Woman Without A Country

There are other stories similar to this one.

Some involved women come from Canada. Some from Europe. Others may come from the US.

This is the perhaps best known.

It is told well at this link:

Hoda Muthana, whose parents are Yemeni, was born in NJ in 1994. Her father, Ahmed Ali Muthana, was an envoy to the U.N. Although he enjoyed diplomatic privileges, one tacit understanding was that any children born in the U.S. would not become automatic citizens.

Ahmed lost his job before Hoda was born, but the U.S. government maintains they were not informed of this until after Hoda was born.

Hoda’s passport was revoked in January, 2016. By that action, her birthright to U.S. citizenship (if it ever were a right) was stripped from her.

Hoda became radicalized and, in 2014, she surreptitiously fled to Turkey on her way to Syria to join ISIS. Upon becoming radicalized, she called for jihad (holy war) and the deaths of Americans.
