News item: Donald Trump is stiffing Rudy Giuliani.

Surely Mr. Giuliani, former mayor of NYC and federal prosecutor, and Trump’s personal attorney, is not naïve enough not to have countenanced such an eventual possibility. Even probability.
For there have been many lawsuits filed against Trump over 3 decades by people — ranging from a dishwasher, plumber, painter, waiters, bartenders — to real estate companies that sold his property to legal firms (including ones that ironically once represented him). Those who claim Trump has not paid them for work done. Surely not all of them were frivolous.
It is unclear whether there really was a prior agreed-upon fee of $20k/day or the two men would reach agreement when the dust had settled.
Maybe it was a handshake.
Or a head nod.
Or a grunt.
Retainer, as attorneys seem to like?
