Assassination plot against Zelensky foiled, Ukraine says

Russia purportedly sent a hit squad to assassinate Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine.

The squad was comprised of Chechen nationals who do the bidding of a supporter of Putin, Ramzan Kadyrov, leader of Chechnya. They have been, in the wording of the report: ‘eliminated.’

With good fortune, Ukraine was apparently informed ahead of time. This time by agents of the FSB, a Russian agency (Federal Security Services).

According to news reports, Zelensky has survived at least 3 assassination attempts this past week.

The Kremlin-based Wagner mercenaries were involved in at least one of the attempts.

Zelensky may not be so lucky in the future.

He may not be able to count on the FSB forever.
