Solomon said, “I wish an understanding heart. The ability to discern between good and bad/evil.”
At an earlier time, in Eden, the Almighty wanted to protect man. After eating of the forbidden fruit, Adam and Eve were banned from the garden, for, having tasted fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they could not also eat from the Tree of Life, and become immortal sinners.
The Almighty knew man would be destroyed by his knowing evil, just as, ultimately, evil will be the ultimate cause of both spiritual and physical destruction.
