Another member of my medical school class (LLU-SM) recently passed. I say ‘another’ because a number already have.
Some years ago, a surgeon, whom I first met our 1st year in medical school, the day we attended a screening of ‘West Side Story’ at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, succumbed. In a successful practice, he and a colleague, a urologist, both had CT coronary screening scans. The CT scan of the surgeon showed heavy coronary calcification. He intended to have this looked into further, but suffered a fatal heart attack before his good intentions were carried out.

I just took a call from another classmate who retired in the desert.
He informed me that a mutual classmate, a retired orthopedist and friend, had passed from metastatic kidney cancer.
This classmate had had the kindness to visit me a few years ago before I underwent lumbar surgery for sciatica.
