Since the events of January 6 this year, on which day supporters of our ex-POTUS (it feels so good to be able to write that: ‘ex- ‘) stormed the Capitol in attempted insurrection and illicit overturn of the recent Presidential election in favor of Their Dear Leader, the USA has been both shaken and stirred by the brazen recordings of those events and the revelation of complicity of various members of government in the attack on the seat of government.

This latter includes both members of law enforcement and government officials.

Barriers were subsequently erected and security beefed up, the latter in state capitals as well as the Capitol, where the Inauguration just took place.

The FBI has its work cut out.

Subsequently, not a little concern was expressed that like-minded individuals would again attack, despite the absence of specific encouragement by their erstwhile Leader.

A couple weeks ago he appeared to send mixed messages. On the one hand he told the mob: “We love you, but it’s time to go home now.”

On the other, he termed some of them ‘’low class,” as in not worthy of consideration.

To my knowledge, he has not pardoned any of the perpetrators who attacked the Capitol, some of whom have asked for pardons, blaming him for inciting them.
