I’m actually getting more exercise now than ever.
Prior to retirement in late 2019, I used to play tennis on Sundays before I drove to another county close to 120 km away in order to work the week.
Now I’m playing close to 6 days a week.
Exercise physiologists currently recommend a minimum of 150 minutes/week of aerobic exercise. They don’t specify how that exercise should be split.
I wasn’t getting that before retirement.
Now I am.
Our tennis is rarely singles, which would provide even more aerobic exercise. Instead, the group of which I’m a member plays doubles, often mixed.
A couple of members live in the gated community in which the 2 courts are located, for which the rest of us are grateful.
There’s a range of ability.
No two players are identical. In fact, no two are even alike in their manner of play.
One has a strong serve and forehand and moves well. Others move less well.
One is a tiger at the net.
