We live in perilous times.
After a meal, I once cracked opened a fortune cookie in a Chinese restaurant. It read: “May you live in interesting times.”
And we certainly do.
The corona virus, now a global phenomenon, has struck with mystery and rapidity. Much information — and misinformation — abounds. There is no cure and, thus far, no vaccine (it may be at least a year off). Fortunately, it seems to be less lethal than it could be. One cause of fear (and that which goes hand-in-hand: panic) seems to be uncertainty.
One of the most informative articles I’ve encountered, for those who may be interested, is this, by Tomas Pueyo, at medium.com:

Also a global phenomenon.
Other countries have shared in our financial pain. Some even more so.
