Member-only story
This past week, at the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) in Orlando, FL, a statue of the former POTUS Donald Trump was unveiled. The head and hands were finished in gold. The 200# fiberglass statue, with larger-than-life head, was made in Mexico, a country trashed by Trump.
He was responsible for expansion of a wall between the USA and Mexico, the better to keep out ‘criminals and rapists.’
He assured Americans that he would get Mexico to pay for his ‘big, beautiful wall.’ That never happened. Instead, he appropriated $15B from elsewhere to pay for the wall.
I am uncertain the purpose of the statue. It is presumably designed to incite fealty for the former POTUS and remind his base why they supported him.
Depending on how things play out, they may continue to support him if he makes another Presidential run in 2024.
I have a story to relate.
Whether you accept it as historical fact, or think it the product of someone’s fevered imagination, I’ll leave up to you.
It is recorded in Daniel 2 of Holy Writ. Daniel lived about 620–538 B.C.E.
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had a dream. It troubled him so much he asked his wise men — magicians, astrologers, and sorcerers — to interpret it for him.
