A couple things have happened this year to give me hope.
I would not characterize myself as being unusually optimistic — or pessimistic.
Not that this word even exists, but, if it did, I would say I am ‘mesomistic.’
I think you know what that means without my defining it.
It is not in the OED, but some other dictionary may carry it.
It means something in between.
What happened on November 5, 2024 reassured me.
Anyone with the right amount of charisma can be POTUS.
Felonies be damned.
And all the rest.
The American people have spoken.
I will not say more, except to remind readers of something VP (under Richard Nixon) Spiro Agnew once said.
I may paraphrase.
“Mediocre people need representation, too.”
This might be worth remembering in the coming months.
Except now this.
This to my head was what a volcano was to Mt. Vesuvius.
