Some of us travel the road of life with little thought to what may lie beyond what is immediately perceived. At one point I was one such individual.

As an adult, my life has been spared (I believe) on more than one occasion, and I have wondered why. I have since sought to unearth the reason.

I wish to describe several things that have happened in the recent past and to take the position that, while they may have been happenstance, something else may have been at play.

One does not glance up at the interior liner of one’s car (at least I don’t) very often. When I happened to do so the other day, I was surprised to discover the majority of the gray fabric had come loose and would have descended more except for the interior dome light, which held its center to the interior roof.

I have owned a number of cars, and this happened to none of the others.

This particular car is 18 years old, so I wasn’t too upset. If things age, why should our vehicles be an exception?
