An Open Letter to Jill Stein & Cornel West

Before you read further, there’s nothing new here.

Just an appeal to the better angels of your respective natures (apologies to Abraham Lincoln, our 16th POTUS).

But that alone may be sufficient.

Or not.

I get it.

You’re upset.

You’re steamed.

You’re pissed.

You might be inclined to tear out your hair were that a viable option.

You don’t like the 2-party system.

You’re not alone.

There are many in this country who share your pique.

You would like to see change, and you would like to see it now.

You’re getting older.

You’d like to see change while you’re still alive.

And you’re not willing to leave the country in protest.

It may do no good to ask you to be patient.

It appears reform may have to wait for another day.

When? You may well ask

And I admit I don’t have an answer.

Maybe never.

Certainly not now.

In a perfect world, IMHO, the popular vote alone would elect the next POTUS.

In certain countries, that’s the way leaders are elected.
