A Perversion of Understanding

I recently encountered this post online:

What I want to comment on is what I perceive to be a distortion.

I don’t know if you believe in prayer.

If you are like most Americans, you may.

According to one survey, 51% of Americans ‘agree completely’ with prayer.

Another 30% ‘agree mostly.’

Thus slightly over 80% of Americans seem to say prayer is an important part of our daily lives.

IF you believe in prayer, what kind of deity would you be praying to?

In “The Iliad,” the gods took an active part in the affairs of man.

This included during the Trojan War, which was fought over a beautiful woman.

Paris, a Trojan prince, had been appointed by Zeus, king of the gods, to judge the goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite as to which was fairest.

No Magic Mirror for them.

Instead, they would be judged by a mortal.
